Hergé

Signature de Hergé

Genesis and Artistic Explorations

Georges Remi, known as Hergé, was born in Etterbeek, Belgium, in 1907. He began his career as a cartoonist at a very young age in scouting, then worked for the newspaper "Le XXème Siècle". In 1929, he created the character of Tintin, a young reporter who would travel to the four corners of the world. Tintin's first adventures were published in black and white, but Hergé quickly moved to color. He then developed his characteristic graphic style, called the clear line. This style is characterized by its use of bright colors, sharp outlines and realistic perspectives.

The World of Tintin

The adventures of Tintin are classic adventure stories, but they also deal with more serious themes, such as politics, religion or war. They are also marked by humour and satire. Hergé is a prolific author who published 24 Tintin albums during his career. He is also the author of other series of comic adventures, such as Quick and Flupke and Jo, Zette and Jocko. Tintin is me. He is the reflection and manifestation of the best aspects and abilities of my being. He is my worthy brother, who has found enormous success. I am not a hero but my dream is to become one, the dream of a 15-year-old boy... A dream that I will never stop pursuing. Tintin has done a lot for me.

Hergé died in 1983.
