Genesis and Artistic Explorations
Georges Remi, known as Hergé, was born in Etterbeek, Belgium, in 1907. He began his career as a cartoonist at a very young age in scouting, then worked for the newspaper "Le XXème Siècle". In 1929, he created the character of Tintin, a young reporter who would travel to the four corners of the world. Tintin's first adventures were published in black and white, but Hergé quickly moved to color. He then developed his characteristic graphic style, called the clear line. This style is characterized by its use of bright colors, sharp outlines and realistic perspectives.
